Well as you are no doubt aware there is no other mainstream brand,I am sure they will be happy to just go along with the much more lucrative brokerage business

I doubt if this would be the case as Ancasta is a hungry animal and as a business need, and for many years have had a powerboat option. I would suspect it forms a fundamental part of their business model.

The profit generated by new boat sales, as well as the revenue that that generates through their service department will be important to them. Not forgetting that part ex's on new boats will feed their brokerage division.

I suspect that as they knew the arrangement with Sealine was due to expire at the end of August they will have been actively seeking an alternative. So I wouldn't be surprised to see some news in the not too distant future.

Will the £ still being weak against all other currencies, trying to penetrate the UK market with a new foreign range of boats will be a waste of time and effort. On the other hand, all the mainstream British brands seem to have their distribution networks sorted. With Ancasta's established market presence and their large number of offices, they'll want to take on a high volume seller. Here's a guess. They are already dealers for Beneteau sailboats and Lagoon (Jeanneau) cats; maybe they'll try to get the UK distribution rights for Beneteau or Jeanneau motor boats? Beneteau/Jeanneau are high volume competitively priced manufacturers; Ancasta seems like a good fit to me
