Isn't this the whole point Volvo have high jacked not just the corner of the market here - but the entire market squares ?
I would regard you as a professional gentleman and competent in your trade.
It scares me that people like you are flummoxed , deliberately by people like you .
Don't you think there's a. con-job going on here ?
And its all at the owners expense

Hi George ,
I,am from a similiar background to you - I ve had one VP powered boat but soon realised just looking at it that " there's a con job going on here " I was totally new to Mo Boats, on a steep earning curve .
There no evidence based papers to read ,no journals ,or colleuges peer review to access VP products .But we have the net ! Now .

It does feel like the " Kings New Suit " -folks are afraid to say it as it is reVP issues ,or due to % which may be the same there's a lot of VP owners posting on here ( And lots not posting too ?) .

Any how i think I understand your frustration with VP , there are -many Marine and Automative applications of SUCCESSFUL -IT mixed with basic engineering .VP falls short on both counts IMHI .
I dont think "-it's cheaper to buy at end product " stacks up - for eg .... D12's compared with C12,s is sufficient justification for allowing VP to get away with it .-with allegded follow on costs catching up the perceived shortfall in the initial price .
Who wants the hassle of corroding parts , external steering rams ,cast iron exhaust elbows et al ?
Not to mention corroding electrical contacts /senders /potentiometers etc.
Back in Sweden they haul them out and winterise -drain fluids /spray contacts -place in a warm hanger for 6/12 - -so may be and its only a may be the VP stuff fares better -than UK or Med 50/52 week immersion ?
Even so MAN, MTU , CAT ,and Cummings Seem internet wise more reliable -factoring in as I said the numbers % of units out there .
VP products would not get passed by NICE for NHS use
