/forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif Having spent I leisurely 12 hours saturday getting the boat in the water and putting the mast, rigging and running rigging up. I believe having been at the boat this evening I have maybe made a big boo boo.

Needing to do a couple of things with my halyards that I had forgotten. I looked up my mast and to my possible horror I think I have put my spreaders in back to front.?

The reason I say this is that they are slightly shaped along one edge. And I have put these in facing astern. I think that they should be forward facing.

Do I have a problem?, Is it possible to resolve this without the mast coming down. A bit peeved as I was hoping to take her out the canal Saturday. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thanks Morgana, had a serious think last night about what I did when I put the on. I am sure that I had to put them that way round as the holders on the mast would not have allowed them to go any other way. i.e. they are shaped to fit one way only.

Cheers

Gary.

On the Sonata Association Website they have some contacts

Could try this? Masts and rigging: Early Sonata masts were made by IYE. Later masts were made by Proctor Masts, now part of Selden.

For more help with masts, rigging and fitting-out try Phil Evans Sailing Services, The Joiners Shop, Bridge End, Old Hutton, Kendal, Cumbria LA8 0HN. Tel/Fax 01539-738900 Mobile 07774-167900. philevans.sailing@virgin.net

Might be worth a phone call for peace of mind.
