An Azimut owner at last :)

Re: An Azimut owner at last - a cpl of pics of shed stay.

pics, you saw yesterdays few?
Yes I did, and she looks immaculate, congratulations! :encouragement:

As I understand, you are actually replacing the portholes, not the large glued windows, right?
If so, why, if I may ask?
I never saw any boat - let alone one as young as yours - which needed all portholes replaced.
Defective material, maybe?

Portholes? I think one of the direct glazed side windows needs replacing. Phil also mentions the Flybridge screen.

Re: An Azimut owner at last - a cpl of pics of shed stay.

sorry chaps - yes indeed, it's one of the port side 'shark fin' windows... I took the boat on with this to repair, and quickly found out why the seller hadn't got round to sorting it :) it's looking like a long wait via Italy, but still in time for the new season. Yes to new screens too, I had a go out polishing away the dullness from the perspex but it wasn't happening. Portholes are all tip top - in fact pretty much the whole boat is, it had just been underused and left slightly unloved... certainly isn't going to be from here on :)

No good with a local glazier?

did try this route - but most weren't interested at all, others were concerned re tint and mirror combination, it's got to be right, so it looks like it'll be original Italian glass co.

Aha! Ok, forget my previous comment.
I had the impression looking at your pics that the cabins portholes were dismantled...
...I should use my glasses more, I reckon! :)

Getting there, coppercoat on, back in the marina in a week, hoping for some crisp sunny winter jaunts ?

She looks beautiful
I wanted coppercoat on my boat, when I mentioned it to the yard they looked at me like I'm an idiot and mumbled something about a boat that sank and it had coppercoat

I'll let you know how I get on with the coppercoat, I've had it on my sailing boat with great results - minimal growth, just a bit of surface slime which soon erodes if sailing, or sponges off by hand. But have yet to try it on a bigger motor boat. As to sinking a boat....!!?? What, how, why? Maybe they didn't fancy two weeks of hard labour prepping the hull?

That's exactly why, plus why does a stupid Englishman think he knows more than us

More like they didn't want to miss out on charging you for AF every year.
Once, a boat with engines sank. And one with sails. In fact, one that had both sank so maybe just buy a caravan
