Amusing Boat Names

I was giving Ubergeekian some grace time to point out the one he usually raises when this topic comes up - Mirror Dinghy "Maid Freya Kitt" (even the scots dialect impaired should get it). I think it's my all time favourite.

The other one that arises is the expensive gin palace called "Arm and a Leg". Perfectly fine until calling: "Thames Coastguard, this is Arm and a Leg, over".

Something like 10 National championships in that boat.

I wanted to call our boat 'Moody Mer' but was overuled. Saw a boat called Severance, rib was Bonus. The owner told me he was motoring up the Solent and the chap on the lightly smaller boat next to him called over, 'You must have got more than me'.

Tempted to reply to a hail from "Sirius" in McEnroe like voice with 'You cannot be Sirius'.

Old favourites include a mirror dinghy "Maid of Pligh" and a ferro vessel "Maid of Portland"

I dont think I will ever forget being astonished to see a liveaboard motor boat in Brighton Marina called "Cruising Queens".

Just this week saw "Wet Dream". Imagine having to make a distress call - "Mayday, Mayday, Mayday. Wet Dream Wet Dream" !!
