I have decided I like to try and stay warm and dryish on boats now.

No, just proves you're coming to your senses, finally.

One extreme is to windsurf in a gale in January off the Witterings and the other is to switch to a pipe and slippers in a cozy ol' Broom. Driving Flybridge boats from below also counts.

You've just got to find your happy medium.
