I need some 75mm OD Alu tube for a project, but the online metal suppliers I’ve tried all seem to sell the metric equivalents of imperial measurements, especially once you go above 40mm OD.
So instead of 75mm they have 76.2mm (3”) which will not work on this project. It’s not the end of the world if I have to get some thicker wall 76.2 and have it turned down to 75mm, but before I do that I just thought I’d check to see if anyone knows of a source of ‘non imperial’ aluminium pipe.

Hi Fred,
This supplier says it’s 75mm OD but maybe worth double checking with them !

I've looked at 3" od x 1/4" wall Aluminium Tube | metals4U as you mention 76.2mm, but this has 6.3mm wall thickness so could be machined down, but as you say a pain.
Thanks Boathook, had seen that and to be honest it’s no great hassle to get it turned down. I’ll probably end up going that route, if, after speaking to the metals guys, it turns out 76.2 is all they do. The tube that eebygum linked to is slightly too narrow walled at 2mm I think. The original tubing is 75mm x 3mm and I’d better keep it as near to original as possible.
