Alternator for Cat 3208

I need a replacement alternator for one of my Cat diesels. 12v with 51 amp output. Any ideas on where to source and likely cost? Boat is based in Gib so alternator needs to end up there?

3208 used a couple of different alternators, Delco 20 SI and Motorola with separate regulator, together with a few others, what make is yours??

Good question. No idea actually. Alternator removed in Gib for bench testing and found to be not worth repairing so looking to replace.

Original alternator was 12v with 51 amp output part number 7G7889 but the boat is 1990 build and the original may well have been replaced. I am checking the exact model now and will revert.

I had an alternator fail on a Cat3208 engine in an AZ46 in the Ibiza a few years ago. Ring Finnings in Poole with the engine no and they'll identify the correct part and DHL it to you
