from honest john site:
For repairs to damaged alloy wheels, try A1 Wheel renovations of 345 Bilston Road, Wolverhampton (01902 871422); 'Spit & Polish' of Tonbridge, Kent (01732 367771); or 'Wheelbrite' of London (0171 431 9015). Or Pro Clean Alloys of Prescot in Merseyside. www.procleanalloys.co.uk . The cost is likely to be £30-£80 per wheel.

Its V easy to do yourself- cheap too. Had great results on OZ rims with small lumps completely missing! Remove wheel, rub down area, fill/fair etc with chemical metal if needed. respray with matching paint in lots of thin layers (often wheel silver) and laquer. Takes a couple of hours but quite satisfying!!

When I was in a main dealer - used Spit & Polish - can recommend them and they still use them today.

Personally I'd be cautious when repairing such safety critical items as wheels. Make sure any repair includes crack/fracture testing.

What car is it - it's often surprising how cheaply new replacement alloys can be purchased from non-main dealer sources.

Use Lepsons in Gillingham used various times by me & mate in RS Owners club recommends them VERY highly. Kerbed wheels can be repaired almost despite the amount of damage. Around £ 30 +VAT per wheel.

Just got a quote to refurb my Lambo fitted with Oz wheels. I know they are the widest production made but £1500' I think Ill ring round. The steel wheels on my Morris Minor are the skinnyest. Dave.

Hi Ya,

The car itself and wheel are 4 weeks old today... bought SWMBO a new Z4 that happenend to have very nice looking 18inch alloys on it - told her to be careful... but she has rubbed one wheel against the kerb twice now and is a tad upset that in her "words" looks a bar steward. I dont think it is too bad, as it is probably less than a 1/2 mm depth of damage on 3 areas of the wheel - however, i am playing the hush card for a quiet life.

Thought about the new wheel option - but at circa £500 i dont fancy it just yet!

Cheers,

Craig.

Cheers,

Craig.
