All Right: Easier One

I'm starting to wonder myself now.

I'm 99.9% certian that is QSP in Cannes old port Lakesailor. Everything is right, only the road/parking layout has changed. When I first saw it I thought it was the end of the outer mole in port Canto, because the parking layout is similar. Currently there is a big single port-side-to megayacht berth where all the stern to's in that pic are located. But on studying it I'm now pretty sure it is QSP. Nice pic anyway - thanks

Approx 12nm from Cannes, two weeks ago.

Wow very nice. I know exactly where. Talking of red rocks, I was in the red rocks bit of Corsica, Scandola nature reserve/Girolata, 2 weeks ago. Will dig out some pics

No it was French. I've found the pic and it shows the car where I absolutely know to be Cannes.

So where is my original Where Is piccy taken. I had it down as Cannes.

New harbour at Monaco (but I don't think so)
Not Menton.
Fairley certain it's not Beaulieu-sur-Mer
Not Frejus new harbour
I think Petehb may be right with Antibes
I don't think I've taken pics in any other harbour, and it will certainly be pre1991.

It does look like Port Vauban to me, shame about the Lotus mine had the big wing front mudguards with 4 spoke alloy wheels, side pipe stainless exhaust with stainless perforated heat shield Quaif gear box with straight cut gears timed at 4.2 sec 0 to 60 How I loved that car miss it now and wish I had never sold it bugger:(

Tricky. Cant's say for sure. It could be port vauban, on the quay which now has the fuel berth at the end where the camera is loacated. If camera panned right you would see the capitainerie., I don't recall if the streetlights are still there but the mushroom mooring bollards stack up, the car parking does, and the size of boats berthed in those berths is right. But some things are not just quite right for it to be PV

Other guess would be the big mole where the sunseeker dealership now is at Golfe Juan. The look across water to the little red car far right, and the presence of Il Vagabondo Again stack up (it was Al Maktoum's boat and in this berth and its later new berth he could see it from his house in GJ, until his death in 2009). Did you visit Port Camille Rayon in GJ on this trip LS?

Reminds me of "The Prisoner" back in the 60's.

I had a test drive in a Caterham and a Westfield but unfortunately the wife fell pregnant (how the hell did that happen?) so 2 + 2 required! Shame.

But peterhb that new pic is a different part of the (large) port. That's the west side of the capitainerie quai, right on the south side nearest the town. The 4 boats in the pic (sinseeker "Malone" or something, then Maiora "Asha", then Leopard "cheeky tiger", then the (in)famous "Supertoy"), all on their home berths, put that beyond doubt. Pity you didn't swing your camera a bit to the left and catch the stunning Chantella in the pic, built at Trehards yard on the west side of PV. Anyway, I digress. Lakesailor's pic has a view of a breakwater and the sea beyond (far right of his pic), so if his pic is PV at all it is either the southmost quai on IYCA (ie what became Tiny Roland's berth for Hanse, and is now Paul Allen's berth) or the west-east running quai with the fuel berth at the western end of it. There are several different types of bollard/mooring rings/electricity boxes all around the port, no consistency. I'm inclined to think it's Golfe Juan though, but I'm not sure. Al Maktoum loved GJ and I don't think he ever moored Vagabondo anywhere else. I never saw her in PV ever, when he was alive or since
