Never mind those Vendee Globe types, I wish to report that the other day I made a cup of tea whilst short tacking up the River Orwell SINGLE HANDED, in winds approaching 25kts.

I’ve been on Gov.uk website but for the life of me I can’t find the ‘application for an OBE’ form. Anyone know how or where I apply?

I'm with @minn on this; way too self-congratulatory unless we have more detail.

Tea-bag or own blend?
Steepage time?
Milk first or last?

Accompanying choice of biccie (this'll separate the amateurs from the pro's!)

As any fule kno, the galley is on the port side so that you can make your cup of tea whilst on the starboard tack and enjoy the right of way over boats on port tack.

Someone will be along in a moment to say I should not have written “right of way”... this is Scuttlebutt, and standards must be maintained...

I once made myself a bacon roll and a cup of tea whilst hove to (starboard tack) in the Solent. Mind you, it was a weekday morning, well out of season and there was nobody else around.

A boat that heaves-to well is a wonderful thing to have.

Well, in the interests of full disclosure, it was a tea bag based brew, milk last and two sugars ( needed max energy as there was a 12” swell to battle). Did I mention that it was the ‘narrow bit’ I was tacking up, past Woolverstone Marina? Oh, and no reefs in either - the windex was clipping the wave crests.

Documentary filmmakers form an orderly queue please.
