ALDI? LIDL? are we posh or not?

Sorry, but the few times I've bought food from either, it was horrible! Their toold and technology is another matter - I drive past a Lidl on my way to the office and make a point of scanning the non-food shelves most weeks.

On the Lidl topic, I managed to get one of their Fein-alike cutters a couple of months ago - saved me a whole lot of work yesterday. I was fitting extra 13A sockets in the boat and needed to cut holes in the panel behind the nav table to take them. Would have been a slow, horrid job drilling multiple holes, then joining them up with a thin blade - the £30 Lidl oscillating saw went through like a knife through butter.

And through the wiring and gas pipe behind? :D

I must really be slumming it then, I go to CostCo........
I have a sister and brother-in-law who live in Oldham who are so Cost Co-centric that we actually banned them from mentioning the place.

Sometimes they just can't help it and preface what they are saying with "I know you don't want to hear about Cost Co, but............." :D

I only go there for the beer really. 12 bottles of Badger, 4 of a few varieties, for 16 quid when on special.

In saying that I did pick up a decent coat that is ideal on the boat. Three layer system and each layer and be used individually. Hood even folds away into the collar, not bad for 15 quid and its actually waterproof!
Pastries are good too...........kayaks on special this month. Ask Dylan about licencing for the waterways........

For any fans of Fray Bentos tinned pies, Chicken and Minced Beef/Onions are at 99p. currently in LIDDL. (A few weeks ago it was Steak+Kidney).

(Personally I consider them strictly as emergency rations .... they do keep for many years).
