Is the Aldi multitool as good as the Fein Multimaster and how long does the battery last?

The Aldi mains one I bought recently failed after 1.5 hours. Blade failed before that (Cutting fibreglass). By the time you've bought the unit and a couple of decent blades you are near the price of a Bosch one.
A wire came out of a brush. It will be replaced under warranty soon.
Good tool, very useful. Works fine when it's working.
Don't know about the battery version.

I have the mains powered version from Lidl and it is excellent. Have not used it anywhere near enough to be able to assess life expectancy. but it has already paid for itself in terms of enabling me to do jobs that would have been very difficult without it.
The other item that is coming out this Thursday is the Cable Access Kit. I paid £25 for one of these just a week ago and thought it was good - at £7 from Aldi just buy one - you will regret it for ever if you don't. I needed to feed a wire through from the transom to the nav table for some new electronics I was adding. I really did not want to have to rip all the interior fittings out to gain access, so I slipped one of these mousing rods through, following the path of existing wiring. It took a few minutes wiggling the rods and a couple of annoying moments when I could not find the way through but I soon had the end of the rod visible in the cabin locker half way down the boat. All I needed to do then was to tie a strong, thin line to the bullet on the end of the rod and draw it back through to the transom. Then it was easy to tie the line to the end of the wire and pull that through...

My Aldi one just failed as well.
Next time I'm passing I'll take it back for a refund.
but are they available again, if so I might just try a replacement instead of a refund.

Get a Bosch PMF180E for about £60. It's well-made and will actually work for more than an hour or two. Mine's done a tremendous amount of work, and is still going strong.

Not available in store as far as I know. Battery one may be. Contact Aldi customer cares, their repair agent may send another one out.
