This sounds serious, a lucky escape and could have been worse without a life raft. Log in to Facebook
Further info on this. Interestingly Henry, who is mentioned in the article, led my VHF training. I expect his distress call was exemplary. Glad they were both OK, thanks to the RNLI.
'Two lives were saved': Man's dramatic rescue from sinking boat
Lots of lobster pots around that area , or So I was told . The Felixstowe seafront was peppered with them last season , and not very well marked .I had been wondering what the story was so thanks for sharing.
It would be interesting to know what happened. If the stbd prop came off that would be unlucky but I am not sure that it would pierce the hull - Fairlines of that era would probably have a fairly heavy lay-up and the props would be located aft of the engine bay so not sure that would be the area that flooded if that is what happened. I wonder if they hit something and it pulled a shaft out.

Looking at the picture in the link I think that the roof section had been deflated so that the crew could enjoy the view as they returned to station.I'd like to know about the liferaft....seems it only partially inflated....
No it says that the raft only partially inflated and the crew were on top of it. Rather than in it. I suspect only one tube inflated and no arch so it did not self right....Looking at the picture in the link I think that the roof section had been deflated so that the crew could enjoy the view as they returned to station.
