Wife's just booked us a last minute week away and I wondered if anyone's been here and can offer any suggestions for stuff to do with the kids, particularly waterbased?
Are there any places that hire small cats or the like?
What about a day trip on a 'propper' yacht?

Any suggestions will be great.

Not a bad place m8....I think the beach is 10km long!.....plenty of Burger Kings for the kids...Resturants.. too many to think of.......loads of Bars (hic)!......BUT beware it is buggy land...pushchairs every where as it is a family resort, depending where you are staying, some parts are a concrete jungle too. If you want to hire a dinghy or a cat get a cab to Porto Pollensa there is a sailing centre there and the place is quite nice too.

You can hire small day sailers (24') off the beach at Puerta Pollenca.

Last time we did this we had a seaplane swoop down a few hundred yards in front of us to scoop up water fo a forest fire? - scary.

No mooring off the 'world famous' hotel at Formentor - they'll chase you away but there are some nice small bays between Pollenca and Formentor.

The company is Sail & Surf Pollensa, web http://www.sailsurf-pollensa.de/index.php?lang=englisch. We hired "Happy Day III" for a couple of days.
When we were there in mid August there were plenty of vacant mooring buoys at Formentor just under the hotel, about £4 for 24 hrs I think, a couple close enough to swim to the shore. Made a very nice lunch stop. Also the seaplane was picking up water; I was a bit worried that by the time it came back for its next pickup we'd occupying that bit of water but, not to worry, he touched down astern of us the next time - guess he knew we were there!

Thanks for the tips everyone. Luckily we are at the end of the town nearest to Puerto Pollensa so I will give it a try.

Last year, in Crete, nearly every day a huge helicopter was putting out fires around the island and refilling in the sea. A very impressive sight.

Cats on the beach in Alcudia, lots of things for kids, thats what Alcudia is all about. My boat Englander is out in the bay, by the marina, unfortunately, I'm not! But if you see peeps with Englander crew shirts on, avoid them they are all reprobates and drunks! Probably child molesters aswell and thats just the girls!

Spotted Englander, still in one piece after yesterdays golf ball hailstone ´experience`. Took some pics to prove it. No sign of crew though, probably still asleep!?

Found this place near to where we are staying. http://www.windfriends.com Seems to have everything I was looking for.
