Hi I have a problem on my Volvo MD 22L. The temperature alarm sounds and the warning light comes - but the engine is running at a normal temperature the cooling system appears to be working perfectly, nothing in the sea water strainer. When the alarm button is pressed the alarm stops, but then comes back on.

I disconnected the leads to engine temperature sensor and the alarm sounded. I checked connections in the 'stack' and cleaned connections and replaced the relay switch. After that, the alarm sounded when the engine was switched on - the alarm sounder went off when the alarm was pressed but alarm light stays on.

There is a negative connector that looks suspect and I need to replace it - see picture attached., do readers have any suppliers they can recommend for this type of connector or suggestions for sorting out this problem.

Many thanks for your help.

It won't be that.

It is either a faulty sender unit, a fault in the panel, or some corrosion in the wires somewhere.

I'd start by checking all the relevant connectors and maybe replacing them all.

Check that the water strainer is sealing properly- if not, the alarm will sound soon after setting off as it needs to be airtight.
