That is true, but there were a few occasions when we chose to set out either in early morning fog or when there was a possibility of fog just because we had radar, situations when we certainly would have had to stay behind for another day or more without radar. We also have AIS, but although it can be massively reassuring to those caught out in fog, it doesn't give me quite the same level of confidence that I would actually choose to go out relying on it alone.Do not cross the Channel and await better weather. Just like we used to.
