AIS to PC from standard horizon 2100

Assuming you don't have a serial port, you need a USB to Serial RS232 Adapter Cable. Don't buy a cheap one, I have been through about 4 different types.

If you only have one device to feed into the PC, I recommend this:

These both use the FTDI chipset with COM Port Retention, which makes setting up a bit easier as the device remembers which COM port it is assigned to; most don't.

Then you just connect up via a 9-Way D-Type socket which you can wire up, or you can cut open a double ended cable like this:
