This is for the website 'vessel finder'

Computer nerks probably know this already, so kindly disregard.

I think these websites are no use on a boat, the information doesn't update fast enough and contacts kinda come and go. However, for keeping an eye on your sailing friends, charter companies, owners, sailing schools etc, it's a great and legal spying tool!

But today I discovered a new (to me) very handy bit. A friend of mine is storm bound in Dartmouth very near to the start of a long delivery. So whilst spying on him ? I got easily sidetracked into putting on the wind arrows.....Useful. But if you click on any contact and do 'track' you get more. The track drops periodically an arrow shaped marker. Clicking on the arrow gives the forecast wind speed and direction. Neat. So by zooming around and selecting other vessel tracks, you can get a good mental picture of what's going on.

That's it. Really simple and for me, quite useful. ??

a bit of thread drift but relevant to the current lousy weather and for the computer geeks.
