Airmar DST810- Axiom 9 - water temp

I mentioned some time ago that my system is not showing water temp. The transducer was a DT800 and I assumed it was just faulty. I bought a DST810 which I've just installed while the boat is on the hard. I see the transducer on the Axiom when I go to settings/network. However when I go to data sources everything else is there in the top menu but not water temp (see bad photo). Water temp is showing on the Airmar app on my phone and I've checked to make sure it's set to output on the NMEA 2000 menu on the app. I've powered everything on and off to no avail and I've disconnected the transducer from the network and reconnected. I'm stumped.

I'm seeing a temp reading on the Airmar cast app, which makes me think the problem is not the 810.

My Axiom+ receives temperature from ST60 as that is what the Airmar is connected to. If you have a similar set up, it could be that either the instrument to Axiom connection, or the Airmar signal is outputting a signal that needs to be changed to NMEA2000 /STNG. Just an idea.

Thanks. The Airmar app shows that the transducer is outputting Temp in NMEA 2000.
My son who understands these things better than me is coming to visit in a couple of weeks, so I'll probably leave it to him - unless someone can suggest an idiotproof solution.

With the help of ChatGpT I was able to add the water temp as an overlay on my chart. It still doesn't show up in the Data Sources menu.

Raymarine has a function for handling multiple data sources (MDS), that includes depth and speed through water, but not temperature (according to the manual). This may be the reason the data sources menu is not showing the value on that page.

NMEA 2000 sends temperature data in it's raw state as degrees Kelvin which would need converting by the display to C or F so maybe also why your data page chooses not to display the hard value?

Info clearly available on the bus if you're able to display it on your plotter though.

Seriously. Thanks. As per my previous post I found how to overlay it on a chart screen.

Looking at your first image, you can see the Raymarine MDS at work with the options along the top line Depth/STW/Heading/GPS/GPS datum/Wind/Time & Date. This allows you to display and select alternative sources for this data, but not water temp and the hundred other things that could be whizzing around the NMEA which you can't view on that page either.

Glad you sorted it, my explanation is to add clarity to how the system displays the available data and why you couldn't see temp in your set up pages.
