Based around Market Garden & related by a Medical Officer.
The descriptions of the dressing stations/injuries are the most realistic & graphic I've ever read.
Those guys were true hero's.

+1 on the choice... I recommend the second in the series as well "Freefall"..

I enjoyed the book. It gives a good insight on how the Parachute Regiment was formed in WWII and what they went through and what they've achieved during the first part of the war. The main character, Theo has a very interesting background and I'd think his main role in the story is to make it possible to include all the regiment's actions. I especially liked the Dunkirk part, as in this book not only the ones who were saved were mentioned but also the ones who died there or became POW and with this helping the rescue mission. It is a fiction book but when one researches on the different raids one would find that it is very much historically accurate. I am looking forward to reading the next book.

Have read the next one, good but not as good as Airborne.
Have searched for the next in the trilogy, but still only a title at moment.
