I discovered that my steering is a bit slow to respond ie air in the system so I have filled new steering oil through flybridge filler on top of steering wheel, also checked for leaks found none.

Is there anything else I can do?

1 Trace the pipework looking for any high and low loops. The air gathers in the high loops, so by depressing these the air can vent towards the helm pumps.

2 To actively vent and assuming you have power steering for the auto helm - set the steering to auto then -30 whilst at the same time wheeling the helm to stbd. Do this for a minute or so, then standby then auto again this time +30 whilst wheeling to port. This helps purge the lines.

Check the upper helm station periodically because as the air finds it way to the helm pump the level will drop to fill the lines.
