This may sound silly, but, is there meant to be an air-filter in an md21b there apparently used to be two tapered air inlets under the manifold which I presume rusted off many years ago. ( I can see them on the brochure for the engine)
I experimented with putting some pipe in place of these and this quietened the engine considerably. So now I have two stubs welded in place and I can fit some tubing on over these cut or shaped to suit.
But I have been thinking " where is the air filter?" is there meant to be one?, should I fit one? or perhaps two ?
Is there an optimum length or taper for an air intake or is it a matter of trial and error.
Thanks in advance
Tony
