As the proud owner of one of Mr Lloyd's Consort jackets (1972 and still waterproof but on 4th set of buttons), I rang this morning to complain that my new (1998) Ocean racing trousers were getting lower and lower as the elastic stretched and
risked me stumbling overboard as the ends concertina-ed above my boots.
I had to demur at the offer of returning them for the elastic to be changed as the trousers were in the boat some 660nm due south and the business of getting them back would be just too tedious.
Imagine my delight when Chris Potter phoned me back, as promised, to say that replacement braces, of a new improved pattern were on their way FOC.
It's nice to be able to say something nice about something, even if it isn't the government.
