Watched them dig it out when I was visiting Westerly, that was a few years ago now.
Dig it out? Surely they just had to mark off an area not to tip the rubbish into?

Hi James, much admiration for this video and the time taken to film this.
Maybe we can sort a time out on our boats and get some real good footage of us all, I'd also invite a few friends if there interested , then we could all benefit from some good cruising coverage. Cheers.

Wow..... just out of interest how much does the insurance cost, is it very expensive ?
I worked as a Saturday boy in Knight & Lee in the early 70s. First job on a Saturday morning was to drive out in a van with all the weeks packaging and cardboard and dump it there. Sat in a restaurant there a few years ago looking out the window and where they were digging out the footings to extend the gym you could see the remains of the bin bags and rubbish.Dig it out? Very nice and interesting to observe from above. What is the music ?
Fantastic video .... you could make a fortune from Premier Marinas and all the estate agents associated with selling houses in Port Solent ... or anywhere come to that!
What a beautiful video. Do you have to comply with any of the Licensing or Air Navigation Order rules?
Excellent instructional video here for flying from a boat.
For some reason I have watched it 22 times now with the volume off :encouragement:
I think that's a superb video...... Swmbo isn't so sure!!
Yes, for example the on board gps knows where no fly zones are present so it can only fly in areas safe for air navigation
The USA is getting testy on all FPV; current proposal is that you may only fly/control through your normal unaided vision if I understand correctly. I think the problem has come about with the electronic sophistication. You could always have gone and spent a few hundred on a rc heli/plane, but unaided, it would be in pieces in moments. Now the flying is semi automated any T,D or H can "fly" one. I cant imagine BMFA insurance co will put up with streams of claims if that is what happens.Hi F33Man.
The reason I ask is that I have a Phantom 2 Vision+, and having fun taking videos and pics. But there's been a lot of debate on the island (I live in Guernsey) about the legality of flying them. In talking with the Director of Aviation there is no island legislation apart from that of the CAA.
However, this much from the CAA appears valid. If you want to sell the pics/video, you need to be licensed by the CAA (a flying test as well as a written test!). If you don't intend to sell, it appears there are still rules to bide by but I think the one for craft less than 20kg is CAP 658. I'm in the middle of checking but the main info is here: http://www.caa.co.uk/default.aspx?catid=1995&pagetype=90
As well as no-fly zones (programmed into your drone) the guidance in CPA 658 (http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/CAP658 4 Edition Amend 1 June 2013.pdf) is as far as I've got. And then there's the Data Protection Act and surveillance rules.
I'd be really interested if you find anything else. The point they make is that you and I, as the 'pilots' are fully liable for any damage caused by the drone, and insurance is as hard to get as hens teeth - as you can imagine.
By the way, I've already drowned one Phantom in the marina........
