Advise needed

As title says really been to look at a sealine s41 that has been re-engined in 2008 with a pair of QSD 4.2
320hp engines on legs
Are these engines to avoided as I seem to remember that they are something to do with VW should I keep looking for a Volvo engined boat I know the yammer ones are to be avoided the on their one I have seen has kad44 in would this be a safer buy
Any guidenence would be appreciated

Nothing particularly bad with Yanmar engines - some models have a few faults. They tend to rev higher than Volvos which some people don't like but then KAD44s have their share of issues.

QSD was a Cummins/MerCruiser diesel and manufactured by VM not VW. I've not come across them myself so can't offer any advice other than VM manufacture a huge number of diesel engines for commercial and marine use.
