OK, in a nutshell I'm really tired of the rat race and would like to purchase a boat, move to San Carlos Mexico, and open up my own business. Unfortunately, I know next to nothing about how to go about purchasing a boat complimentary with my needs. Can anyone offer advice on this subject and maybe point me in the right direction?

Thats one hell of a question, have you any experience of sailing/boating? Where do you live now, this side of the pond, or USA? Where is San carlos, Mexico, cribeam side or pacific? Do you want a motr or sailing boat? Are you married and need a big boat for kids etc? What business are we talknig about? I guess you intend to liveaboard this boat. I'm afraid you will need to answer some or all of these questions, before anybody can offer any constructive advise. But it's a good idea!!

I think before you go selling the farm you will want to do some serious investigating into Mexican Law. Particularly
how the law there feels about Americans moving down there, not just as a spending retiree, but as a business owner
and "Jefe". Additionally I would inquire into their immigration laws to see if you can even stay there beyond a certain period of time.
You might also want to look into the tax ramifications of moving any property there, and what you will need to do
to keep a vessel down there beyond a certain period of time. Is this vessel to be a documented US vessel or is it too
be a Mexican registered vessel.

As the previous poster said...you need to answer a great deal of questions, to yourselves and to others that you are
seeking information from.

The transition you are considering is far more involved and possibly traumatic than you might think....especially if there are
other family members involved. Feel free to ask your questions, and we will try to answer.
