Is sailing on the wane ?

I have just thumbed through our local booklet for evening classes . Guess what ? No sailing courses at all this year !
Not that course sailors need any further instruction but it would be nice to have the opportunity.

What do you think is most apt for sailors then ?

On offer is :-

Indian Head Massage

British Wheel Yoga

Men's Cookery

Nail Art

Wedding Hair, Make-up and Nails

THose who dare.............

Failure to offer shore based theory courses is often the result of unavailability of suitably qualified tutors. Either Go West Young Man, where there are courses galore in Devon and Cornwall, or try nail art. You can make some awfully pretty patterns using brass mushroom headed nails.

Nail Art

I always thought nail art referrerd to those grotesque "California" fingernails, used to replace those bitten off when worried about the next adult education course. Incidentally, does adult education have any connection to other adult activities, like adult books, videos, etc? If so, it might be worth a try on a dull winter's night.

Re: Nail Art

Nail art has the potential to be extremely useful.
For example paint the nails of one hand red with the letters P-O-R-T picked out in glitter; paint the nails of the other hand green with S-T-B-D highlighted similarly.
Then you always know which is which as long as you're facing forwards. If you're facing aft, just switch the hands over _ assuming you've done the night class in microsurgery

Re: Nail Art

Great idea, but you didn't make clear which hand is PORT and which is STBD. BTW, what do these acronyms stand for? I missed the class when they covered that subject.

Re: Nail Art

Truly inspirational, although I am somewhat concerned when it comes to the suitability of Nail Art to provide the application for BOW and Stern - any suggestions?
