Adrift - Spooky film

My daughter loaned it recently. It's the most awful low budget film (a quick whip round in an empty pub would have trebled their budget) ..... don't bother to watch it, a complete waste of your time. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

That would have to be very loosely based - it's even worse than Open Water !

Mind you, at least someone allegedly survived Adrift; if Open Water was based on any hint of a true story (which I'm sure it was given the number of maydays for lost divers in the Solent each summer), the vast majority of it was made up because there were no survivors!

It's based on the idea that a group of people take a swanky big yacht out sailing, then miles from anywhere, decide to go swimming. Without using the fancy electronics to lower the bathing steps out of the side of the boat first...... so they can't get back on. Most of the film is of people swimming / floating around in the water, saying "It's your fault", "No, it's his fault" !

I think the true story is 'Adrift - seventy six days at sea' by Steven Callahan. I think he lost his yacht whilst about one quarter of the way to the Windies on the tradewind route.

Don't think it is anything to do with this film.
