Adding extra lagging to heater exhaust

Ive put a planar heater into the stb cockpit lockerof my bradwell 18.
The exhaust is lagged with fibreglass exhaust matting, when the heater is running its warm to the touch at the outlet end but still hot to the touch at the heater end.
What would be a good product to add around the first foot or two of exhaust to keep the temp down. Space is tight and there are warps etc in that locker that I dont want melting.

I used something like this:
Quietlife Exhaust Lagging (Glass Tape, 50mm x 3mm, 10m)
And then put some extra ducting over the top for good measure.

Or box it in. I plan to box the warm air outlet on mine as it keeps getting crushed. No reason not to protect the exhaust similarly so long as you foil line the box and leave/drill holes to permit airflow or use perforated stainless steel sheet.

Yes that's what i have, some extra insulation around it is what I’m thinking. Like the clip on lagging for the air ducting vents maybe.

the best is to use 60mm ducting as per the marine exhaust systems. I can hold a running exhaust indefinitely with that on top of glass wrap.
