Adding 2-stroke oil to diesel

Now let's see if I have this right, all I need to do when I fill up next is:-

Add 0.5% of some magic oil to the fuel.

Add 3.00 % acetone because it reduces the surface tension so improves the burn, thus better performance and economy.

Add a few moth balls because they prevent 'the bug'.

Add some Methylated Spirits because it mixes with water and will ensure I never get the bug or a rusty tank.

Did I miss anything?

Good luck. :)

You forgot to add the perfume, so it doesn't smell nasty if there are any leaks :D

Cynic;)

Hmm, Castrol R.... :-)

I sometime add a little bit to the petrol in one of my bikes even 'tho it runs on (straight) mineral oil.

It's the same underlying issue; fuel and oil specs have changed much over the past 40 years, but some of us still use old engines.

Maybe A747 is the answer for my 1990 Yanmar.

Which others? 5% is five times what most of us use in our two-stroke outboards, and would seem to be an enormous amount for a lubricated engine. You clearly are very negative about the idea, have you tried it?

If 100:1 (1%) stops an outboard from seizing then I'm sure 0.5% will look after an injector pump and injectors.

Someone before me meintioned Acetone. I have also heard this is good for injector cleaning. There is a proper report on it somewhere online which supports this. I will see if I can find it.
