AD41A Power steering pump

Hi all,

Well it seems that my power steering pump is well and truly shot. Apparently a replacement is obsolete from volvo, so are there any aftermarket replacements that can be used?

have you checked there isn't a new and unused (no belt on it) one on the other engine - I've seen that before........

Yes I have checked but alas no such luck

Is it the pump body or the can that is knackd?

Replacement cans can be had, e.g. http://www.ebay.com/itm/VOLVO-PENTA-AD41-POWER-STEERING-PUMP-RESERVOIR-KIT-855544-/231020429166
But the pump body looks to be as rare as sightings of a Unicorn.
If it's seals and bearings that have failed, a reconditioner might be able to refurb the pump, if they can get hold of the right sized bits.

well you could spray em green and sell em on ebay, or you could share your knowledge like that. Nice one Paul.

Took my failed pump (KAD43) to Camberley Auto Factors. They got me a new pump the next day for about a third of the cost Volvo quoted.
