AD41-P turbo

Whilst reattaching the air filter housing that keeps on falling off, I span the filter side of the turbo and noticed slight play left to right on the spindle.
is this normal for a little play or are they on their way out?

Engines start easily and without any smoke.

I notice you are just about to drop off the first page but for me there should be no perceptible play. I replaced mine a couple years back ( they were 18 years old and the turbines were worn) but the old ones still had no play. They go around at a stupid speed so my vote is to replace or recondition if the turbines are ok.

I'd have sent it back if they returned mine with that much play !! I have a new one and an old one downstairs in the man cave and neither have that kind of play.

And what's that amount of play got to do with floating in oil? Your conrods float on oil round the crank too. Thay much play and you'd have holes in the block.
