Acrylic Window Paint

I realise I asked this at the end of a thread that had already been answered on a related window issue so thought it best to ask separately.

Can anyone advise on what paint (silver to simulate an aluminum surround which also acts as a UV block for the bonding agent) I can use on acrylic windows, ideally spray?

You might look at Pro-cote Industrial spray paint from Toolstation. Ebay etc . available in 'quick silver'.
Never used it so hopefully you will get more reliable advice. It is not expensive so you could do a trial on a wee patch of the type of sealant that you want to cover?

I believe I have similar windows to you on my Sun Odyssey. I have the same issue with the silver paint having worn off.

I am very aware that repainting could possibly cause crazing of the plastic. If the paint reacts chemically with the plastic.

I have used a water based craft paint to touch up the window surrounds. It is called Plastikote. It did seem to work ok. But it has worn off now.

I am very reluctant to try any solvent based paint.

I would have thought any aluminium paint, after cleaning and lightly abrading with fine abrasive would work perfectly at stopping the UV getting through the acrylic and affecting your bonding agent. Alternatively you could cut a "frame" from a sheet of adhesive backed PVC sheet as used for stick-on graphics then you wont have to abrade and will be easy to replace if it gets scuffed if you buy extra PVC sheet. However, if you have used UV resistant acrylic, such as Perspex brand, no UV will get through anyway.

I don’t think the issue is whether the aluminium paint will stop UV. But whether the aluminium paint will cause the plastic damage such as crazing.
I’m not a chemist so I don’t know the answer.
I attach a pic of the type of windows. This is a replacement from Jeanneau which I had fitted. As you can see the window is supplied with silver paint in place. The issue is that as the boat ages then the silver wears away.
I think your idea of a decal to apply to the window to form the silver frame is good. I have considered doing similar
