I'm realizing that in the last weeks I spent quite some time on the forum.
This isn't a good sign. A clear-cut case of boatmissing, if you sea what I mean...
I'm sure that this pathology affects, more or less, all of us.
But this year, It's hitting me earlier than usual.
November 1st, and already hit by the "wanna go boating" obsession...
Does it maybe get worse when getting older?
Should I expect that psychiatric help will soon be necessary to survive in wintertime?

I'd be glad to hear about any similar experience.
Also, any suggestion for an effective cure?

...obviously, remaining within (how should I say, Kim?) civilised limits...

Funny you should mention this affliction. We feel the same way as are in between boats and season closing. Decided to mooch around a chandlery to get fix this weekend.....

...reading again my initial post I noticed the spelling ..."if you SEA what I mean".
The situation must be even worse than I thought!...

Chandlers... beware! Don't think that they can be of any real help.
They're aware of this illness which strikes most of us boaters, and even fool us with promotions, discounts, etc.
At first, looking around all those boating gear might be nice.
But back home, when all your bargains have to be left in the garage waiting for springtime, the affliction can only get worse.
...not to mention the empty wallet!

Have a good weekend anyway... :)

it's ok! you're going through the male equivalent of PMT.

Just warn SWMBO so that she knows what to expect, and all will be well.

You can throw tantrums for no discernable reason, stay up all night, post silly messages on the forum and bite everyones head off....as long as she knows that this is your time of the year she will be very understanding, and will just stay clear of you, and probably go down the pub everynight, leaving you to get on with your mood swings /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Whassamatter with you lot! Just liveaboard, like me, then there isn't a closed season, especially in the meddy, but when the weather isn't very nice, you can tinker, repair and improve to your hearts content! BUT! A word of warning going to the chandlers WITH your wallet/credit card can be very damaging to your bank account! Causing all kinds of nasty letters, normally starting with "sir, we would like to remind you, it is YOU who BANKS with US!" Keep yer' chins up lads, it's not really a long time!! Blowing bluidy hooligans out here again!

I know Colin, that's the only way out.
Trouble is, I couldn' commute to my office.
Not that I'd miss the office itself, it's some sort of earning which I'd sure miss!
...unless of course the business idea on the polyestermite would prove effective...
BrendanS seemed available for R&D...
