ol'will's little boat last Sunday afternoon. Beautiful weather 10 kt and about 25 degree on Swan river.
Note mother (wife) who is forward balast wanted to get in the photo. Note also the stowage of the spinnacker pole (wind surfer mast) stowed against the mast.
Note also the ring on the side deck to take spin pole to make an A frame for mast lowering. Also hard to see the high field lever in the forestay bottom.
Yes hank on jibs

I'm not jealous at all.
We have grey overcast, drizzle and zero degrees and it's getting dark by 3.30. We're so lucky in UK.

When I read of you guys using diesel fuel heating systems, wood heating systems, solid fuel heaters on your yachts I start to worry. Surely you could think of better ways to pass your time? (I'm convinced the lot of you are masochists)

Its not all bad - sunrise over Wales this morning. And definitely made better by cabin heating! Screenshot_20221207_225333.jpg

Actually I'm wrong! Roger has just corrected me by PM.

"Willian_H is a longstanding member and past Commodore of East Freemantle Yacht Club on the Swan River.
East Fremantle | Yacht Club

Thanks Roger(y)
Thanks all for kind comments. I never know if it is bad form to be rubbing our weather in to you in UK. The boat type is called a Castle 650 ie 21ft trailer sailer with vertical lift balasted keel. In fact I antifoul it and leave on swing mooring for 7 months of the year. Yes the little boat has given a lot of pleasure over 42 years of ownership. It was in fact the protoype of the design though not greatly different from current production. No I was never a commodore of East Fremantle Yacht Club though was honored some years back as Life Member (along with wife) for services mainly to junior and adult sail training and also keel boat race management. Big weekend coming up with a Friday evening race ( about 90minutes) and 2 short races on Sunday afternoon. (About 50 mins each) But I have to get in the water and scrub the bottom Friday morning cos that weed and barnacles grow so fast. ol'will
PS that is ol'will on the helm (unusually) with sun glasses and "arab" sun protection hat. Plus 2 faithful crew>
