A very Still Day at Old Felixstowe 29th November 2020 Video

Very impressive, apart from the music.
Thanks

I know that many people don't like music on videos but as this is drone footage (No mic for obvious reasons) it would be totally silent and many don't like that. I tend to put on some music that I feel is suitable and if people would prefer it silent they can just click mute of course. If it is the choice of music then that is a difficult one as my niece would want one direction on all of them :)

Music can be a very subjective matter. I can embarass my granddaughters in shops, by calling out "whoah oh oh woh!"
"what's the matter Granpa?"
"nothing, just singing along with the music"
You can't go wrong with some Stones.:)
I do like your drone shots.

Thanks for sharing that. Makes me yearn for a bit of boating, its been a long time October 2019.
I have no idea how these things can be so accurate, controllable and without wobble/shake?
Does the controller have a complicated screen controller?
Last question: the last shot, where you suggest dredging, is that a river or a drainage dyke?
Have never got to walk along the path although I have visited the area for work and sailed by.

Many thanks all for the comments.

The camera on the drone is on a very accurate mechanical 3 axis Gimbal and is rock solid even as the drone bounces around. The drone itself is locked onto about 20 GPS Satellites including the American ones, The Russian ones and now the European ones. It will fly for about 30 mins and will return to its take off point on its own and land if it encounters difficulty. It sends telemetry information back to the controller telling me its position, Height, Vertical and Horizontal speed, Battery level and temp and also flight time remaining as well as a lot more information. The live camera feed from the drone is constantly displayed on the screen on the controller. It could (but not legal) fly about 5KM from my position..... And all of that and it only weighs 240g.

The screen I use is a second hand Iphone 6s Plus which works very well.

Regarding the bit for dredging I think it is just a side bit of the river or a creek

Here is a little wind speed test I did at Heybridge Basin earlier this year. In this clip I am not operating the controller at all it is flying its self and holding GPS Position

On my Larger (but not much) Mavic Air 2 it actually has Obstacle avoidance sensors which work very well

Excellent footage - and I can see our boat still has it's cover in place! Not been able to visit to check as can't drive for six weeks as just had a new knee.

Hi there Mr S think that if its the piece of water with the Housboats moored in which is alongside a Sea Wall, its a piece of the Salt Marsh, that runs from the main Ferry area along that Sea Wall, until abreast of Kings Fleet, which on maps can be seen a an expanse of water inland from the River seperated by the Sea Wall; historically Kings Fleet is reputed to be where A King of old could and did moor some of his Fleet of Ships , in relatively a safe anchorage, off the main river Deben; In the past the sea wall was not built there so that piece of water refered to joined up with the Kings Fleet, was used as an alternative route into Kings Fleet from the direct access from River Deben; alas the Sea Wall and filling in for farming purposes means that the Kings Fleet is but a land locked BIG ditch ?

The posibility of using that piece of water for boating and moorings; there is a recent Post in East Coast about ownership of the Ferry and ajoining land and water plus foreshore which I think explains who owns what and their stated intentions with reguard boating and development in that area.

Thanks for that detail. My comment in the video was simply a throw away one based on what I was observing. It just looked to me like a useful space that if dredged would make some very nice moorings

Hi there Mr B yes I agree; my interest and detailed knowlege of that area goes back to the 1950s when it was my Holiday time playground staying at Grandparents, Uncles and Aunts who lived there; yes I often thought that it could be developed without changing the Look and Appearance of the place; I was last up there a few months ago, noticed what appeared to be more Dyke infilling taken place on Land Side of that Sea Wall
Strange to see relatives former Homes again with new owners etc; yep I thought that the Video was really entertaining plus Very well filmed /operated
Best wishes
