Haydn says he finks he needs a new boat, jimi wants to know which new boat he should get, Happy1 wants advice on which new boat and which new engine, haydn and gludy are locked in mortal combat over the pros and cons of bow thrusters, Learner still hasnt bought a boat (or given coliholic his shilling) and i have been languishing boatless with P32 fuel tankless and confined to pontoon .......I could take no more, it was obvious something needed to be done.

So, at around 1700 hours this evening SWBMTB and I collected the keys for our new aquisition...a Pedro dutch steel cruiser with single diesel on shaft and bow thruster.....and the maiden voyage will be to Windsor on Saturday....such perfect unselfish timing for the Thames MoBoChat meetup.

What more can one say.....all contributions to the bottle of bubbly for the renaming ceremony gratefully received.

I don't play much, but the hotel has a Golf course free to residents, SWMBO is having the Spa treatments in the afternoon, so I thought I could go and hit a few balls. I wonder if Dom is in the UK this weekend, he may fancy a game, I am sure we could have a good old natter on the way round /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

I don't have a handicap, well not a Golf one anyway /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif I don't really see me getting one if I am spending so much time on my boat /forums/images/icons/wink.gif I don't know where people get 4 hrs at a time to play Golf, they must all be cab drivers or firemen.

congrats

Well done B1. Sounds excellent, more details and pics? I think one has really arrived when one has a boat made of steel.

Do you still have princess, is it for sale, could you deliver it to med? I ask on behalf of learner.....

Uuuppss. Ive been trying to keep it secret all night. Money from an unknown benefacter I believe. Well if I found the money for a new boat, thats wat every one would say!! They would say that I'd knicked it, from some unfortunate woman.
Does any one know an unfortunate woman to knickit from!!

<hr width=100% size=1> <font color=blue>No one can force me to come here.<font color=red> I'm a volunteer!!.<font color=blue>

Have a great time at the do, I'll be at my fathers 80th, otherwise I'd have loved to have been there to admire the new beastie

Nice one Tony! Always remember a story about a guy with a steel boat ....

Whilst steaming down the Solent a yacht tacked right in front of him. The sailor screamed up at the helmsman "Sail sail" pointing at his bit of rag expecting totally clear water. The helmsman smiled, patted his flybridge and quietly said "Steel steel" and rammed him. Sorry yachties.

Hope you have a place for Bosun on your new boat. If not, Jeanette will look after him!! See you Saturday
