Just a week ago many will remember that I received a call from the marina to say that my boat had broken her warp springs and had hit the pontoon. The warps were 24mm. I was really concerned that the damage would be substantial and I eventually because of the damage and the poor weather last week decided that I would take her to her winter berth and take her out of the water to do a full check.
Her is the damage I was greated with at the marina.
Not a pleasant sight but it didn't look as bad as I expected, most of it was caused by rubbing rather than banging against the pontoon.
This is what it looks like now out of the water and after the 70 mile trip.
All in all she isn't that badly damaged and there doesn't seem to be any plank damage, just a little putty that has been "shocked" out. The repair will be easy to fix with a neat scarf joint and the rest is paint. Just shows how strong these old wood boats are.
So its a little wood work and some more Dulux and alls well! Oh yes and a little bit of brass trim.
