Well Captain sensible, they dont call you that for nothing! Tartan would match new cushion covers, wonder if its available in black & white with a red stripe?
So is this a crane out, pressure wash everything, mask everything up ,crane up onto the lorry, crane down again to dry and then crane into the water. Could work out really cheap !![]()
Have you got a prototype yet? If so, why dont you take it to the London Boat Show?
There are normally some boatyards/marinas at the show. Perhaps you could generate some interest and also do a demonstration.
It sounds interesting, and about time.
Unfortunately, any copper based antifoul (which works really well on my hull) will also disolve my expensive aluminium outdrives, which is a bit of an issue.
I'm out.
Im presuming that the way you operate this it negates the need for masking tape? And it guarantees an accurate waterline. Although, if the density of the paint is greater than water would the boat float higher in the paint? Might be something to investigate.
Maybe SKipper 14 has a business supplying new outdrives to boats....!
Yes you are correct the density of the paint is higher than that of seawater so the boat would float higher. However we will calculate the weight that needs to be added to the boat so that it would float at the correct draft and then add the correct weights around the boats longitudinal centre of floatation so that it floats on an even keel. This may sound like a lot of work but once we have the required stability data for each class of boat it will be very simple.
They can do it but they can't promise whether it'll end up red or black
You have almost got me convinced that this is serious.........April is, after all, some months away.
Maybe if you dip once in red antifoul and then once in blue, the crew will be marooned.
Attention all yachtsmen, day boat sailors, and motor boat owners
I am in the process of developing a new technology which will change boat maintenance forever.
As boat owners you will all be familiar with the tedious job of anti fouling your boat. But I will soon be able to reduce this to a 10 minute job.
The plan is to essentially have a large vat of anti foul on a HIAB lorry The boat will be lowered into, thus giving a full and complete coat of anti foul on the entire under water area of the boat.
The system will be taken to various harbours and marinas around the coast allowing dozens of boats to be anti fouled in one day.
Do you take bookings for lectures? I am sure my engineering institution could fit you in this winters programme and we have a few members who work in the marine industry.A revolutionary new development which will change the maritime industry forever
