I suppose to my main Spade and stern Danforth, I could add the dinghy grapnel if we want to be complete ;)

I also have an “angel” of sorts, but it’s only to stop the warp ending up around the keel when everything goes slack and sloppy at the turn of the tide. I don’t expect it to add anything useful to the holding. It’s a couple of kilos of scrap chain stopped together into a bunch, with a big carbine hook on top to go over the main warp.

Yes, Fortress or Guardian (third boat).

Not used often, but on each boat I can quote at least one occasion where it saved the day. Even day sailing. My last experience involved swimming an anchor out (long story--dinghy was not a option); try that with an over-size Delta (glug, glug, glug...), but with a foam PFD, a Fortress over the shoulder is nothing.

I have a CQR primary anchor on the bow and a Danforth and Fisherman, both appropriately sized to act as primary anchors if the bottom was suitable for them. I don't however have much chain for the kedge - perhaps 5m, but with 30m of warp.

I've only ever used the CQR and don't want to put myself in a position where I will need a kedge (I have no intention of racing in this boat, so won't use one to prevent being pushed backwards by the tide unless my engine breaks).

It’s a spare and a second anchor. It’s a dinghy launchable anchor wheareas the main is too heavy for that. It has not been used as a kedge yet though. .t could enable a Bahamian moor if I were to ever need that. It is mainly used to control the angle of anchoring in relation to the wind or swell. A useful trick by the way in getting sails up or down at anchor. It was once used to prevent a swing into an impossibly closely moored boat in case the wind stopped. All in all pretty indispensable. I have a Fortress, but any decent aluminium one would be OK.

Yes, a Fortress fx16 with about 8m of 10mm chain + a lot of rope... Only used a few times before I replaced the original bower plough anchor with a Manson which is superb.
