Having not been to too many places around the Solent in my short boating life I decided I wanted to go somewhere different today and seeing as it was Springs and High Water was at 12 noon we decided on Wootton Creek for a pub lunch. We left Saxon Wharf at about 10.30 to a sunny but cloudy sky

Saw this little lady so detoured for a closer look

The ride across the Solent was very choppy, spring tide so slowed down to about 20knots. I waited for the Ferries to clear the entrance to the Creek before entering.

Moored on the Yacht Clubs jetty where a helpful chap took the lines and pointed us in the direction of the club for food and to pay the £5 short stay fee.

We then had a pre-beer beer at the Yacht Club

A local then suggested eating at the Fishbourne Pub up the road so a 3 minute walk and we were sat outside with views over the Solent and a nice bit of lunch..oh and a beer!

After feeling refreshed, we headed over to Portsmouth, now I've never been into the Harbour by boat before so it was another first for me so we headed up for a nosey around, heading first to show my brother in law one of the Forts

All in all a great day out, Wootton Creek was really nice and quiet, 2 new places visited, boat handled great, food was good and slight sunburn...

I did take some video with the GoPro and will edit & upload it when I get the time

Great pics and thanks for posting. Strangely I started my boating life at that very yacht club. I did the safety boat there for 2 years most Sundays as a teenager. Great ways to learn boat handling, towing etc.....

I also painted the yellow start finish shed on posts you may have seen on the way in out in the bay :):):)
Great memories.

With a suitable tide you can push on to the Sloop pub at the far end of Wooton Creek. Had our Targa 35 up there, not sure I'd be quite as brave with the current tub :)

Henry :)

Great set of pictures Matt.
Will have to add that to list of places to visit.
No boating for me this weekend. As you may have noticed my boat is missing a couple of vital parts! I.E legs. Ummmm just hope they not missing for as long as last time. Not happy as they came off at start of May and was promised them back on boat for this weekend.
Just hope this is the start of the summer and time to catch up with boating when ever that may be

You haven't had much luck with your legs the last couple of years hopefully its gets sorted soon and you can get out and enjoy that boat of yours.

Having remedial work done as there was a problem forming under the paint. All under guarantee as spotted last year . It was agreed this could be rectified over the winter ........
