A little video from the Solent, April 2026

We do a series of shakedown cruises at the start of the summer to prepare ourselves for the upcoming charter season. This was a little run out to Cowes on the Isle of Wight and then a night at anchor (well actually on a buoy) in Newtown Creek, again on the Isle of Wight.

Forgive the format, most of it was filmed on my sunglasses and that means it gets treated differently to iPhone footage.

If you know the area you’ll recognise places, if you don’t know the area we have a bit of wildlife, some great sunsets and a few places to chill out.

Totally agree. Funnily enough mate, my wife just asked me what the song was. I've not heard it before, but for those curious, it's "Step by Step in Time" by Benny Rivers.

Oh, sorry, I didn’t realise these things can only film in portrait. I guess FB/Meta only think of them being posted on sites viewed on phones, there is no technical reason from the sensor point of view that they shouldn’t allow it. I hate viewing video with big size bars.
