A Laptop for use whilst cruising "On The Hook".

We run a Toughtbook CF-18 we get about 4hrs out of the onboard battery, and typically have a 2nd battery ready charged. It has a reasonablly large hard disk, though no on board DVD, but 2 USB which lets us play DVD. A USB 3G Dongle gives us some broadband for weather and email (via two providers, three (Orange for GPRS, and Three for UTMS) and Vodafone (GPRS/UTMS) which seems to manage everywhere we've been so far in UK.

Additionally we have a Targus Power Adapter, which has both AC-DC and DC-DC convertion. This charger also charges USB devices (phones), printer (HP 400), VHF handheld and various torches.

The CF-18 seems to tolerate the odd split drink and has a bright screen. My only complaint is the speaker's ain't great, so we have a AA powered speakers we can plug in too, if watching movies.

Seems good to us. relatively inexpensive and so far reliable (had it 5 years now with no issues)
