A fun trip on a Sealine 410 - Lymington to Swansea

Congratulations to the new owner, nice boat and glad she ran well upon taking delivery, and many thanks Halcyon for making and posting up the vid, well made and a great watch, reminded me a bit of John Boyles' series.

What a great first trip as a delivery for the owner, exciting enough buying a new boat but even more so with that journey ahead.

Thanks and best of luck with her.

Andy

No - just I find it hard to believe anyone would buy one given the other British manufacturers we have make much better boats. OK price is often a factor but then the US make better boats for far less.

Which Sealine/s did you own then which have let you down so badly?

A nice vid . It takes a lot effort to put a good vid together and be brave enough to post it .
There's allways a bit of trepidation and plenty of excitement with a del trip .
Thx to the OP for sharing .

US make better boats??? What glasses are you wearing, I'd suggest a visit to spec savers.

It's not just price, it's also Ergonomics and layout.

e.g. a Fairline T38 is a great sea boat, but the early versions that I could possibly afford have instruments hidden behind the steering wheel, a helm position that didn`t suit me, and a fiddly canvas. All fixed on later versions that are way out of my budget.
Contrast that to an SC35 which is a bit slower because it is beamier, but also has a very sea kindly hull, great helm position with sensibly positioned instruments, and a slidey roof thing.

It's somebody's "new to them" pride and joy, so it is something to be excited about.
I'm quite surprised that such an inoffensive delivery video has triggered negative comments!
Not much point posting new boat threads if everyone just puts the boot in.

Then agan, this the same person that said:
"I only have experience of a Sealine S23 and an S28 but they both bobbed around like corks with no seakeeping abilities whatsoever"...

Maybe my S28 was built differently: probably not, though :)
(S28 with no seakeeping abilities that has been to Netherlands, Normandy, West Country, Paris, Channel Islands, and Newtown Creek)

.

Well said FP.

Great vid, that looks one very happy new owner. What you call a perfect shake down cruise to test your new boat, must give the owner a lot of confidence that he's bought a good boat.
A couple of my mates have F43 and they are a good sea boat, with amazing amount of accommodation for their size.

I seatrialed a few S23s and S28s a while ago on the Solent - neither model faired well so I didn't buy one. I bought a Nimbus Nova 26 instead at the time. I've also been on a customer delivery of a used T52 in an F4/F5 back across the channel which shouldn't have been a problem but it's not something I'd do again in a hurry. The owner had to replace two LCD TVs, various internal fixtures broke, the lazarette flooded and the generator broke it's mountings. OK I don't expect the boat to be built like a Fleming or Grand Banks but it fell well below par of the equivalent Princess or Fairline.

Lisalou, you're probably talking to a 14 year old troll; if he/she doesn't understand what is negative and counter protocol in regards to his post then what's the point. They can go back to school after the weekend and carry on getting bullied....

Sorry but I speak my mind - it's just an opinion and you're free to disagree - in fact I expect it as we're from all walks of life with different expectations and aspirations.
