A Fond Farewell to a Floating Friend!

Yesterday I delivered my Maritime Mistress with her new owner up to Arrecife and she went in style. Unusual SW wind gave us a lovely broad reach with full main and poled out headsail. In the sun!

A medium sized whale popped by to say hello on the way, fab.

Now her working days are over she is starting a new life as a liveaboard and being refitted for far flung cruising. A lovely way to go.

We were together for 9 good years and she looked after lots of trainee sailors and some very happy Instructors.

My personal voyaging reveals that I taught 170 courses so around 520 people, covering 24,470 miles of adventures.

Still is! Jeanneau 36.2 from 1998. Some posters on here have sailed on her, Makora.

We were on Desert Star but obviously saw Makora. Are you replacing her?

Oct 2013 we did our YM coastal on Makora. I do remember "Don't tread on the new spray hood" every time one of us left the cockpit. Good advice and something say all the time as well.

Hiya. Nah, after some thought it time to let someone else have the headaches and the bills!

If so, I had some pleasant weeks instructing & sailing out of Alcudia some years back on her.
