A bit obvious?

Not had mine yet. Always look forward to it since SWMBOs father fell for the Hamble speed-bump.

Remind me not to read this thread until mine has come (which will presumably be the day after this flu clears up and I can go back to work)

Yep, as I leafed through it I thought the "Sailors make better lovers" story could be it but the real one hits you without even having to think about it. Not one of their best I'm afraid.

I can never see the point of April Fool in the first week of March, any more than I can of the annual fit out article 2 days after I re-launched for the new season. They must have a strange calendar!

Maybe this is the only positive thing having YM mailed to Finland ; it arrives propably at the end of March !

The theory in the magazine world is that if there are two similar mags on a stand and one is dated March and the other April the punters will buy the one that is apparently more 'up to date'. This escalates into a date war with publication getting earlier and earlier as each mag tries to beat the others to the news stands.

It's not as bad as some. SWMBO got her April edition of Gardener's World around Feb 20th!

Four years on and I am still waiting for the first osmosis sniffing survey dog to be trained for real. The concept was such a good idea it had me fooled for a day.

This year's story had me for at least 5 milliseconds.

You mean this one....

Didn't Beken of Cowes photograph a famous 'flip' in the Solent? ...And the bowman did some oceanographic research!

Who's going to post that....?

No need. That's in this month's YM as well.

Re: You mean this one....

Thanks, Chris, that's the one. A helluva way to reduce hull form drag..... and quite committed racing!

Reminds me - have been in a very similar position, on a 33' carbon trimaran, all four of us hanging onto the rear rail for dear life, and all three pointy bits under water much as in the above pic.

No, I don't have a photo of the event. All 8 hands were quite otherwise occupied....
