PS, I made my original post tongue in cheek - I AM a lay minister!
Is that something to do with the Missionary Position?

I think that a dark Green hull looks every bit as good as a dark Blue hull, would have no problem with Green at all.
What is very serious though, taking a box of swan vesta matches onboard, (told to me by a Plymouth trawlerman!
I will add a modern one to the list, one of our friends will only pump the heads an odd number of times!

A Japanese superstition: When eating a fish do not turn it over to eat the other side. This will cause a boat to capsize. Lift the backbone out.
Most surveys don't bear that out. Free-thinking, yes, but atheist no.
I AM a lay minister!
Is that because it is supposed to "whistle up the wind"? Which could be a Good Thing if becalmed!
The boat I have bought is green, green hull, upholstery, green spray hood. But its not really green, underneath its red, the previous owner had it changed from red to green. Where colours are concerned I am not superstitious but I will NEVER change the name of a boat again.Certainly green is bad - I wouldn't wear anything green when sailing and wouldn't paint a boat green, or have a green spray hood. .
Is that a full-blown smacker, a ground peck a la Pope, or just a blown kiss?I always pour a tot of the best thing available over the side for Neptune when launching for a new season, and always kiss my boat goodbye when leaving.
A full smacker of course![]()
