My Fulmar has a 7/8ths rig. What should be the tension in the leeward cap shrouds when sailing to windward in about 15 knots apparent?
I am not very familiarised with this type of rig as my previous boat had a masthead rig.
Thanks.

A bit slack's OK, to the extent of there being a bit of a bow in it, but if it's waving around then it's too loose. You can't take all the slack out

on each tack, look up the mast to make sure it's straight. if the lee shroud is too slack it will allow the windward spreader to push the mast out of column. fore & aft bend is of course ok.

See my long post on this subject (How tight should rigging be?) somewhere below. Other posters are correct, the intention of the lower and cap shrouds is to keep the mast straight. Sight up it on each tack when beating in F3-4. It should be straight laterally. Adjust as necessary on each side. The only difference for a 7/8 rig is that there is intentional fore-and-aft bend to give the degree of mainsail flattening required.
