5th Generation anchors

There are some fairly strange anchors about, most of them claiming to be the ultimate in holding power. One of the strangest was reviewed in YM a couple of years ago. Instead of having weights or roll bar to turn it the right way it had a float on top!

I know a chap here who has an anchor that looks rather similar to the XYZ - he showed it to me recently, and couldnt remember the name of it, hence I was wondering what it was, now I think I know...... (but on 2nd thoughts am not too sure)
He claims it works very well.
I would be a bit skeptical though about the ability of that little horn sticking out on the top to turn the anchor right way up if it lands in a rather soft bottom upside down.

Handling it on the boat could be interesting!!!

Funny how every anchor thread starts with an apology these days..

Yeah, sorry about that!!!!:)

Still, I have just bought a Rocna, and a Fortress from a forum member, so I was trying to see how fast this appears on the "followers" radar.

6th generation anchor

Very good holding power.I call it The Grab
It's still being developed by our highly trained team of engineers but already shows great promise.

"The design features force the XYZ to set almost instantly in demanding anchoring bottoms - EXTREMELY DEEP for ultimate holding power, and HOLD regardless of angle of pull. Once set, even under the most adverse conditions, the Extreme will NOT BREAKOUT. IT WILL HOLD!"

A bit of an over the top claim. I has to breakout at a particular angle of pull, or you would never get it back on board.

It will either breakout by pulling through the bottom, because the bottom will only be able to withstand a certain force - dragging?

Or it will breakout at the appropriate angle for getting it back onboard.
